Associate Designer (CAD)

Position Overview:

Our current opening is for an Associate Designer. You will be supporting a specific Project Engineer and support him/her for the product categories assigned to his/her engineering responsibility. These assigned auto parts are mechanical and electro-mechanical finished end assemblies containing a variety of small components that have been injection molded, machined, stamped and die cast. We are a TS/ISO engineering/manufacturing environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the design of individual components using your development knowledge of plastic molded, stamped, machined and die cast parts.

  • Assures that design features, dimensions, tolerances, and allowances conform to functional and manufacturability requirements.

  • Use Solidworks (3D) to create layouts, assembly and detail drawings & will prepare bills of materials, engineering forms, etc.

  • Other related duties associated with supporting the Project Engineer.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design. (Other drafting degrees cannot be considered).

  • Past experience using 3D CAD – Preference will be given to experience with Solidworks 3D and experience with GD&T.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience developing finished end assemblies that contained parts that are injection molded, stamped, die cast and machined. 

  • Ability to effective work in a team environment. This includes, delivering on due date expectations, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively work with others, and strong attendance.
