Design Engineer – Ignition Coils

Due to our continued growth and strong position in the automotive aftermarket, our Product Development Engineering Group has an opening for a Design Engineer to develop automotive ignition coils. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for development of ignition coils that will replicate all aspects of OE coils.

What You Need to Bring to The Job: 

  • Requires a 4 year degree in engineering, preferably BSEE.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Design/Product engineering of step-up or step-down transformers; experience developing ignition coils preferred.

  • Knowledge of bobbin design is required.

  • Strong problem solving skills, data analysis skills and associated report development is required.

  • Demonstrated project and time management skills; a record of consistently meeting project timelines.

  • Strong bias for action, with effective oral and written communication skills along with the ability to motivate others assigned to assist you with your projects.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a CAD system.

  • Experience in a high volume product manufacturing environment preferred.

  • A working knowledge of TS16949, QS 9000 or ISO 14000 is preferred.

  • Experience with APQP is preferred.
