Tonight's 'How It's Made' to Feature Oil Pressure Sensors from Wells Vehicle Electronics

Segment at 9 p.m. ET on Science Channel Covers Robotically Controlled Manufacturing Process at Company's Fond du Lac, Wis., Electronics Facility

FOND DU LAC, Wis., May 22, 2014 — Tonight’s episode of the popular “How It’s Made” television series will feature a four-minute segment documenting each step in the production of automotive oil pressure sensors from Wells Vehicle Electronics. The 30-minute program will be broadcast at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Science Channel and Science Channel HD, which together reach nearly 80 million U.S. households and approximately 70 million international subscribers.

The program’s producers and film crew shot more than 14 hours of footage during a 2013 visit to the company’s manufacturing facility in Fond Du Lac, Wis., which features a state-of-the-art clean room environment and robotically controlled assembly lines.

Wells Vehicle Electronics manufactures more than one million oil pressure sensors annually, with each part designed to meet or exceed the accuracy and reliability of original equipment sensors. In addition, the company offers an array of “Wells Advantage” sensors that address known design and performance issues associated with some OE parts. Wells piezo-style sensors produce no extraneous noise and are less susceptible to electrical noise in the engine compartment. Each sensor is dual sealed to prevent leaks and features oil-resistant o-ring gaskets and thread sealant.

“Our expanded U.S. manufacturing operations have established new benchmarks for product quality, consistency and performance, and those who watch tonight’s program will discover why,” said

John Zochert, director of marketing and product management for Wells Vehicle Electronics. “The segment underscores the fact that premium aftermarket parts are not simply direct replacements for OE, but in many cases offer significantly better performance and reliability.”
